The printed area is A2 (420 × 594 mm), but the sheet itself is slightly larger (535 × 715 mm), leaving a border of 11.5 cm on the short edge and 12.1 cm on the long edge. Plastic folio covers are no longer supplied with these charts, and all supporting data is now available as a downloadable PDF from the Admiralty website.
The format gives more mapping on the sheet without making the map heavy and bulky. The fold has been developed to allow you to open directly to any part, and either side of the sheet easily – no more struggling in the wind!
