The 1894 map, therefore, covers both the Middlesex and the Surrey sides of the river by Kingston Bridge. There is then a large expanse of Bushy Park, including Hawthorn Lodge. The 1934 map covers the Middlesex side of the map, basically Hampton Wick and part of Bushy Park, and also includes a directory of Hampton Wick.
This detailed map covers the busy port of Wick, from which over 1,100 fishing vessels operated by the 1860s. Extracts from a contemporary trade directopry are included on the reverse.
Covering a residential area in great detail, the map is very attractive, even showing many garden layouts.
This highly detailed map at a ‘Yard to the Mile’ scale is dominated by St Pancras and King’s Cross stations. Each is shown in detail, with the full track layout and even the interior layout of station buildings. Coverage on the map extends from Seymour Street eastward to North Street, and from Wharfdale Road southward to Manchester Street. Other features include Home & Colonial Society’s School, St Jude’s church, King’s Cross Metropolitan station, Argyle Square, Imperial Gas Works, St Pancras School, The Polygon, Christ Church Chalton Street. On the reverse we include the 1894 version of the same map, at a slightly reduced scale; this shows Somers Town Goods Depot and King’s Cross suburban station.
This detailed map is double-sided to give maximum coverage of this mid Wales town. The main map covers the town centre and the area to the west, stretching about a mile along the Severn valley to Pen y Banc, Coed Caecrwn and a Woollen Mill.
Coverage stretches from Stoke Goldington and Bradwell eastward to Cardington, and from Harrold southward to Ampthill Park (though Ampthill town is beyond the map). In the SW corner is the area now covered by much of Milton Keynes, but in 1895 Bedford and Newport Pagnell were the only towns on the map.
