This map covers part of Tottington, NW of Bury, and link up with our group of Bury maps. The River Irwell runs up the east side of the map, with a section of the LYR railway, incl Olive’s Siding. On the west side of the map is the company’s Tottington Branch, incl Tottington and Green Mount stations. Features include Tottington Mill, Spring Mill, St Anne’s church, Quakers Field, Brookhouse Mill, Greenmount, Railway Foundry, Tottington Branch railway, Stormer Hill Works, Knowles Siding, Brandlesholme House and Farms, River Irwell, Wood Road, cotton mill, etc. The 1928 map includes a 1918 directory of Tottington.

This map covers the centre of Bury in wonderful detail. Features include the East Lancashire Station, Carriage Works, Goods warehouse, St Mary’s church, Congregational Chapel, Unitarian Chapel, River Irwell, Manchester Bolton & Bury Canal, Bridge Mills, Soho Works, Brooksmouth Mill, Irwell House, St Mary’s RC Chapel, New Market Place, Bury & Prestwich Turnpike, etc. The map was surveyed in 1847 but some railway information has been updated to about 1859. On the reverse we include 10 foot to the mile sheet 88.9.7 covering the Market Place and Town Centre in 1890, together with a 2,000 word introduction to the history of the area.

This map covers the area just south of the town centre, covering the Lancashire & Yorkshire station (Knowsley St) and the Buckley Wells locomotive department. Other features include Bellevue, Waterloo, Haslam Bank, Victoria Gardens. The map was surveyed in 1847 but some railway information has been updated to about 1859. On the reverse we include 10 foot to the mile sheet 88.9.12 covering the Knowsley Street station area in 1889, together with a 2,000 word introduction to the history of the area.
