Features include St John's church, Garesfield & Chopwell Railway, Chopwell Colliery Pit No.1, coke ovens, Chopwell Hotel, RC church, Chopwell Mill etc. Chopwell, sometimes known as 'Little Moscow', is one of the best known of Durham's pit villages.
